The other is always better
The other always seems to be better than us because we use the scale used to measure the other to measure ourselves. Had it been the other way, i.e. if we used the scale used to measure us, to measure the other, we would be superior.
But there is no way we can measure ourselves because our uniqueness will never be revealed to us. Our uniqueness will be revealed to others, but never to us. Hence we will always measure ourselves with the scale used to measure others.
Hence the other will always seem better. It is applicable to others as well.
