They are designed not to replace engineering, financial, commercial, regulatory or environmental due diligence, but to provide an additional architectural layer within those established investment processes.

Rather than creating a new risk taxonomy, Novonanmek examines how infrastructure architecture can mitigate those existing risks.

Two Infrastructure Architecture Standards
Novonanmek has developed architecture and assurance frameworks for major emerging infrastructure systems:
HOPT-AS — Hub-Only Pipeline Topology Architecture Standard: A system architecture and assurance standard for CCUS infrastructure, designed around hub-based CO₂ handling, standardized infrastructure relationships, scalable system development and continuous architectural preservation.
HLAS — Hydrogen Logistics Architecture Standard: A comprehensive architecture and assurance standard for hydrogen production, aggregation, transportation, storage, distribution and export infrastructure. HLAS establishes standardized Architecture Classes and uses Dynamic Compliance to preserve their defining characteristics as hydrogen infrastructure evolves.
Both frameworks recognize that the value of infrastructure architecture depends not only on how it is initially designed, but on whether its risk-mitigating characteristics are preserved throughout its lifecycle. HLAS explicitly identifies long-term bankability and capital allocation among the infrastructure outcomes addressed by its architecture principles.
Supporting Capital Allocation
Novonanmek's architecture frameworks are intended to provide investors and lenders with an independent architectural basis for evaluating infrastructure opportunities.
Under HLAS, for example, Infrastructure Risk Benchmarking is specifically intended for investment screening and pre-feasibility and can support investment, financing, underwriting and strategic decision-making by investors, infrastructure funds, commercial banks and other institutions.
The objective is not to declare an infrastructure project financially viable. Financial viability remains the responsibility of the investor and its established due-diligence processes.
