Novonanmek — The Platform for National-Scale CCUS & Hydrogen

Novonanmek is an infrastructure development platform designed to enable CCUS and Hydrogen ecosystems at national and, ultimately, cross-border scale.

The platform provides a mechanism through which large and complex infrastructure systems can be initiated, developed, financed and built progressively — one opportunity and one project at a time.

Rather than requiring an entire national network to be planned and financed upfront, Novonanmek enables development to happen phase-by-phase.

How the platform works

Novonanmek creates the platform and the mechanism.

Licensed Project Initiators (LPIs) create the opportunities.

A Licensed Project Initiator identifies and initiates a viable CCUS or Hydrogen opportunity, brings the relevant stakeholders together, develops the commercial proposition, de-risks the opportunity and prepares it for investment.

SPVs develop the infrastructure.

Once an opportunity has matured sufficiently, a dedicated Project SPV can acquire the opportunity and become the commercial vehicle through which capital is raised and the infrastructure is developed, owned and operated.

The LPI therefore does not have to become the permanent infrastructure owner. Its role is to create valuable opportunities that can be transferred to the next stage of development.

From projects to networks

This creates a fundamentally different way of developing national infrastructure.

A country does not need to build a complete CCUS or Hydrogen network in one step.

It can begin with:

One LPI → One opportunity → One SPV → One infrastructure project

Then progressively develop:

Project → Project → Project → Connected Hub → Regional Network → National Network → Cross-Border Network

Because the projects are developed through a common platform and mechanism, they can ultimately be connected and integrated, rather than remaining isolated infrastructure projects.

This allows infrastructure development to follow the pace of industrial demand, capital availability, technology readiness, regulation and market development.

A platform that can operate anywhere

The Novonanmek mechanism is designed to be country-agnostic.

The same fundamental platform can be applied within an individual country, across multiple regions, or between countries where infrastructure systems need to connect.
